Our road trip to take Nicoley home starts early Thursday morning. I can’t believe she has to go home already!

I met Nicoley at our favorite desert spot last night to share a beer and watch the sunset. Here are two pictures I took.

Pacific Crest Trail – August 8 2011

I have a love/hate relationship with hiking. Half of me enjoys being outside in the fresh air amongst nature. The other half of me is full of worry about all the bad things that can happen. This hike started out all good and fine. We hiked to a nice spot on a hill and watched the sky turn colors of pink and orange as the sun went down over the desert. We decided to head back before it got too dark and encountered not one, but two rattle snakes. One right after the other. Loud ass, rude, scary mother fucking rattle snakes. This is why I don’t believe people when they say “oh everything will be fine, nothing bad will happen.”  Luckily no one was bit, but it made me scared of hiking probably for a good while. In the desert during the summer season anyway.
